Order Of Coupons at CVS...

it really makes a difference the order that you hand coupons over.Handing coupons in a certain order will help make your OOP lower.
First, always give your X/XX coupons first. Then your ECB's Second, Then ANY CVS issued coupons 3rd, and then your Manufacture coupons LAST.

I always figure extra coupons into my scenerios and use a little more ECBs to get a lower OOP. First I use any x/xx coupons, then I hand over ECBs, then any CVS coupons, then I start with the largest value manu coupons and work my way down. I hand coupons until the total gets to the lowest amount and I have no coupons less than that value. That is why I keep the lowest until the end. If the total is $0.35 and I still have a $0.25 coupon left, I can use it and then my total is now $0.10! It took me several months to get this right but now that I have, it has proven to work! Now this works for me because I am able to use coupons to pay tax down. Also, some states Tax rules are different so it may be YMMV. But it may be worth a try to see!

I also place them in an order or importance. If I have coupons that I can use on another deal coming up then those go last and I try not to use them. Then I have a low oop and coupons left over for another deal. The highest ones first, then the ones that are expiring next then the ones that are usable for later last. I also keep a few small fillers, $0.25, ready so if the total is less than the coupon values I have and is just under $1, I can add it in and use my $1 coupon and have a much lower oop. I always figure my totals with tax and I never seem to get the tax right and I always end up with extra coupons. I used to just give coupons in whatever order they came out of my coupon book.

I also found out that the coupons will pay the tax even if the subtotal is a negative! I said "Lets try the coupon and see if the register takes it and it did! I was as surprised as she was, and excited. So I make sure that I use coupons to pay tax now! Too bad I cant get it to zero! I also do everything in one big transaction. I have found that I spend much less OOP and it is so much easier for me to do it that way. For instance one of my trips, my total before coupons and ECBs was around $300 and I only paid $0.10
