We live in an area that does not typically see tornadic activity and when we do its normally a small F1 tornado. This one ripped roofs off and leveled a home and a barn and took everything from the Melton family. They were treated for cuts and bruises but are going to be fine. Their 6 horses also survived the storm.
As a couponer, I immediately started gathering my stockpile for donations. I know of several places that are accepting donations. These families are in need of basic necessities like shampoo, soap, toilet paper and much more. The Meltons also need horse feed and other items for their horses as they lost everything including their horse trailor! Here are some places you can make a donation:
For the Meltons you can drop donations off at Heat Street in Florence. They will be picked up and taken directly to the Meltons. They are asking for trash bags, storage boxes, basic necessities, bottled water, snacks, and volunteers to help clean up their farm. There has been a Relief fund set up at Bank of America. If you would like to make a donation that would be a great place to start. Also the Merial Co. will donate $1 for every FrontLine and Heart Guard purchased at Ander...son Animal Clinic in Hartsville and Donations for horse and dog feed are being excepted at Northside Feed and Tack also located in Hartsville.

So glad that couponing is helping me to give back to a family in need! It's one thing to stock pile it for myself, but it's another to be able to assist this family with items that we take for granted and have so many of! Thanks Keri :)
