You did great today. I did the same thing at Target with the Hydro Razors. It's a great deal.

Ok, the math on the Schick deal is tripping me up....I can't figure out how the Target deal is better than Walgreens. At Target, it's basically pay .99 + tax for each razor and get a $5 gift card, right?? Is it just because it's less out of pocket? After tax of 7.75%,on 2 razors, I'd "make" $2.76 at Walgreens and at Target I'd only "make" 2.09. Right?? Maybe I'll try Target anyways though as it seems less hassle over a few pennies!! Thank's for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Girl. I also like the fact that you added that it didn't matter why you needed all of this. People are just jealous of you. They are jealous they can't get all this for free.
ReplyDeleteJennifer
About the Schick deal, Walgreens is a lot more complicated because you have to have to figure out a way to roll without too much out of pocket. In the end you have to get more to pay less and pay more in tax since tax is figured on the full amount before coupons. For instance, at WAGS this is the scenerio that I would do to get the best deal:
ReplyDeleteOrder #1
EOS shave gel $2.99 get $3 rr
Pay $2.99 plus tax
Order #2
Schick Hydro $7.99 - $5 coupon get $5 rr
You have to get a filler because your using a rr which counts as a coupon. You have to have the same amount of items as coupons.
Hose $0.33 w/in ad coupon
Total OOP = $0.33 plus the tax on the razor
Order #3
EOS shave gel $2.99 get $3 rr
Schick Hydro (as long as it is still rolling) $7.99 - $5 get $5 rr
Filler $0.33 hose
Pay with $5 rr from Schick
OOP = $0.99 plus tax get $5 rr and $3 rr
Now, do #2 and #3 and then #2 again to get 6 razors. Your total oop is going to be $5.63 Plus 8% (or so) tax on appx $60 = $4.79 = $10.42 total out of pocket. You leave with $15 in rr's which is a total profit of $4.58
Target scenerio:
Buy 2 razors at $6.99 each = $13.98
-$5 coupon x 2 = -$10
-$1 Target coupon x 2 = -$2
OOP = $1.98 plus tax (appx $0.50) receive $5 gift card
Order #2
2 razors at $6.99 = $13.98
-$5 coupon x 2 = -$10
-$1 Target coupon x 2 = -$2
Use gift card from previous deal to pay $1.98 plus tax. That means no out of pocket.
You keep rolling until you are out of coupons. For each set you are paying nothing and making a profit of appx $2.50.
For 6 Total out of pocket is only $2.50 and you leave with $17.50 left in gift cards. That is a total profit of $15.
Ha, Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly not jealous of her. I just think it's a shame she "promotes" couponing with this blog yet she leaves nothing on the shelves for anyone else. I am very capable of doing what she does, but I make the choice not to.
Ashley
Ashley, just a quick note....I do leave plenty on the shelves for others. I pre-order most of my large shopping trips from the CVS manager and from the Walgreens manager so it's not me clearing the shelves. And if you have a problem getting something, just relax because the stores offer rainchecks. And to be honest, rainchecks are a couponers best friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the break down Keri!! Walgreens is definitely more complicated than Target but thankfully my NC Harris Teeter takes RRs or I'd never shop Wags. I ended up going to Target thanks to your head's up on the Schick deal because it was less complicated to use all 6 coupons there than trying to do 6 transactions at Wags and ending up with $30 in RRs. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful! I wish our HT still took RR's! Ours stopped a few weeks ago since our store does not have a pharmacy. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat does RR mean?
ReplyDeleteRR stands for Register Reward - You earn Register Rewards at Walgreens for buying certain products. They spend like cash at Walgreens.
ReplyDeleteKeri you are AMAZING!!! What an awesome shopper!!! I'm totally converted to your site! Thanks for sharing with us!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is no law that I am aware of stating you cannot order your merchandise from the store manager at CVS or Wal-Greens and have them hold it for you like Keri does. If you want to make sure there is plenty of stock, order your own merchandise ahead of time like she does. Keri just chooses to shop smarter, not harder. Sounds like a few of you haters out there could use some lessons. She is teaching classes soon, FYI!!! Keep up the good work Keri!!! :0)
ReplyDelete-Alicia-
Thank you Alicia! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was well said Alicia. Thanks Keri for all that you post. I don't care how much stuff you get b/c we all have the same opportunity as you do.
ReplyDeleteJennifer M.
I only have one $5 off for a Schick Hydro razor - so my best deal was at Walgreens. Unfortunately, the shelves are empty. So, I got a rain check (I will not get the $5 RR) for $2.99. Even with that, I will still get the razor for free. I just have to wait until the shelves are reloaded or order one. :) Rett
