Official Policy on Harris Teeter BOGO Sale and Coupons

During the recent Super Doubles at Harris Teeter, a LOT of my readers reported not being able to use a $1.50 off 2 coupon with a Buy One Get One Free sale. For me, I have always been able to use coupons for $1/2, $1.50/2, $0.40/2, ect. on BOGO sales. All of a sudden our local store has decided to put into practice their policy. The actual policy states that you can only use "1" coupon on a BOGO sale. That means if you use a coupon for $1/2, it is actually seen as using two coupons on a BOGO sale (does not make sense to me, but that is they way it is). In order to use a $1/2 coupon on a BOGO sale, you have to get 1 more item. That means you have to buy 3 in order to use a $1/2 coupon.

I wrote customer service to get the appropriate answer and was hoping that the store was wrong, but it was not. However, our store did have one thing wrong. They said that we had to purchase "4" items on a BOGO sale in order to use a $1/2 coupon. The response from customer service states "3" items. Here is the response that I received:

"Thank you for your email.  If the coupon is $1 off 2 items you would have to purchase an additional item in order to use the coupon.  If the coupon was $1 off 1 item you would be able to use it on a BOGO sale.  Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.  Thank you for being our customer!

Sincerely,

Because this is the official policy, I need everyone here to understand it and abide by it. My future coupon matchups will be changed to accomodate the policy. I understand that it is not fair and it is not in our favor, but it is what it is and we have to accept it. We want to maintain a good relationship with our stores and sometimes it requires biting our tounge and making sure we do the right thing. Thanks for your understanding!

If you would like to contact customer service you can go HERE. Also, it would be good to save your e-mail response and print it out to take to the store if there is any issues.
